Poem for Neda

Free Poems

A beautiful smile

Obvious joy in living

Musical, friendly, playful

Twenty-six years old

Only beginning life

So much promise; so many dreams

One bullet to her chest

Then eyes roll to sleep

Blood pouring from nose and mouth

A nameless triggerman

But the assassins?

Khamenei, Ahmadinejad

Falsely-claimed men of God

Oppressive cowards

Fearing the people, the truth, freedom, God’s way

Truly these rulers – frightened tyrants

Hiding behind lies, crimes, stolen elections

Pretending belief in God

Killing with evil, brutality is not God-like

A young life of endless possibility

Bleeding away on the pavement

How many more in the shadows?

Neda, Neda, Neda

All tyranny is defeated by time

Honor and justice prevail

And a death, many, too many, will be remembered

Neda will be remembered

Poem for Farrah (Fawcett)

Free Poems

For Farrah (Fawcett)

A great beauty has passed from this life.
Of good times and sometimes toil and strife.
Some will say that she went to a better place.
Look at the blue sky or a white cloud, you will still see her face.

Movements like those of a gazelle in flight.
Hair that shone like gold on a moonlit night.
Eyes that could touch your soul.
And essence like that of a red rose.

Farrah, you fought hard to stay here on earth with us.
But when God calls you, go you must.
Whenever we feel a summer breeze or April rain.
It will seem like you are near.
And in our hearts, your memory will always remain dear.

A Poem Written for Michael Jackson

Goodbye Michael

A star has been plucked from the sky.
The sky is now dimmer.
It happened on June 25th.
A day, we will always remember.
Never again to see Michael's smile light up the skies.
Never again to see him moonwalk across the stage as his fans cries.
Never again to hear him sing Billie Jean.
To the roaring sound of his fans' screams.
A brother of the sun has been taken away.
But in our hearts his music will always stay.
Michael Jackson will now dance among the clouds.
And in the heavens, you will still hear him singing loud and proud.

Just for You Mum by DC Perez

Just for You Mum

A Mother's love can never be replaced
The one who gave me my first embrace
Your love is pure and unblemished
A Mother is to be forever cherished

We should always love our Mother
They are our very first teacher
The one who loves sincere and unselfish
And tries to fulfill our every wish

Your kindness to me is beyond measure
Your love for me I will forever treasure
Nothing can compare to your unconditional love
Even at times when I got on your nerve

A Mother's love will live on forever
Will stay around and leave you never
What I am and have become today
Were sacrifices made by you from day to day

The sacrifices that you have made
Can never, never be repaid
Love your mother, love her dearly
She's God special gift to you daily

I love you mom, I will love you forever!
I carry you always in my heart

My mum is and have always been my best and closest friend. A mum who's also a friend is a plus. We talk about almost anything.

Cherish your mum.
