Westminster - By Anna McCarthy Hoffman

Medieval halls smell of savage times

Acts of aggression, human fear for preservation

Fine clothing, fine minds, fine ideas

Pacing these green carpets

Oak paneled passageways

Used for waging war and enlarging empire

Growth of nations over pints of beer and clinking teacups

Ordering the world, redrawing it’s maps

Connecting railways, common language

Deciding society and legality under

The swinging arms of a glorified pocket watch

Eternal timepiece sounding the hours til judgement
